IMPORTANT ABOUT WASTE
Dear residents of Enhjørningens Gård,
Please use the waste containers that belong to our property. We are not allowed to use the waste
containers in the yard of the neighboring property.
Our waste room is in the passage to the quay area (Overgaden Neden Vandet).
In waste room 1, you find containers for biowaste (which must be packaged in green biobags) and
residual waste.
In waste room 2 you find containers for cardboard, paper, plastic, metal, batteries, small electronics
and a cabinet for hazardous waste and ceramics.
Please be aware that wine/glass bottles, jam jars, etc. must be deposited in the glass container at
Christianshavns Torv.
It is important that the property and the municipality’s guidelines for waste sorting are followed, and
please remember: – – – – – – – – – – –
That cardboard must be folded or trampled flat before it is thrown into the container.
Unfortunately, we often find cardboard in the containers for residual waste.
That all waste should be compressed as much as possible.
That all waste that goes into the containers for bio- and residual waste must be in
biobags/plastic bags to avoid flies in the waste room. A container wash costs 300 DKK.
That the green biobags are for biowaste only. Feel free to use two bags if the waste is very
damp.
That cooking oil should be in biowaste in two bags, preferably together with some paper
towels.
That large amounts of soil must be handed in at the recycling station.
That plants must be in plastic bags and thrown in the container for residual waste.
That pizza boxes must be in the container for cardboard.
That ceramics and porcelain must be in the container in the cabinet for hazardous waste.
The lock code is on the cabinet. Do not place any waste on top of the cabinet.
That it is only plastic packaging with the hazard label (!), which must be disposed of in
hazardous waste.
That a “waste island” has been created in Wildersgade, where you can drop off textiles and
plastic, among other things.
On the municipality’s website, you can check how a piece of waste should be sorted:

Thank you in advance for your help
